Q1. What is the approved method of inviting a PM/PD/APM/Fill in the Blank to sit at my Industry Table?
A1. Industry Reps—please make your requests to the Army Ball Committee. You can accomplish this on the table registration forms that will be available on/about 1 April 2005. As you can imagine, there are many requests for the same individual. Additionally, some of these individuals may be involved in an ongoing procurement. Therefore, PLEASE do not make requests directly to an individual. A uniformed member of the Army Ball committee (from PEO STRI) will place guests at tables. Military members and Government Civilians—if you are willing to sit at an Industry Table for the Army Ball (and I hope that you would strongly consider doing so), please provide your preferences, both where you are willing/want to sit and where you do not want to/can’t sit, to MAJ Carl Kimball from PM TRADE.
Q2. What rate do I pay to attend the Army Ball?
A2.
Active Duty Military: $47.50
Army National Guard: $47.50
Army Reserve: $47.50
Government Civilian: $47.50
Retired Military/Government Civilian AND not a Defense Contractor: $47.50
Guest of one of the above: $47.50
All others: $90.
NOTE: If you are a contractor, regardless of your past military/government service, your rate is the Industry rate, $90. SUGGESTION: First, ask your company to purchase a Table (assuming they are Corporate Members of the Sunshine Chapter) and further that you and your spouse/guest get two of those seats. (If you get your company to buy a table and you want to sit with the Government Team you support, that is OK with us if it is OK with your company who bought the table!). Failing that, ask your company if you can expense your tickets for the evening. Cost of the Greater Los Angeles Army Ball--$270 per person (no kidding….)
If you have questions, issues or problems with what rate is appropriate, write/call the Chapter President and plead your case. (mgenetti@csc.com, 321.235.8204)
Q3. If my company buys a table(s) for the Army Ball, are we required to donate seats to the Chapter?
A3. NO!! The ten seats are for you to fill with your company members/guests (except as stated above). For any seats you donate, you may request ‘who’ sits at your table, e.g., sister service reps, PEO STRI reps, National Guard/Reserve Soldier/NCO of the Year, National Guard/Reserve Soldier, ROTC Cadet, etc.
Q4. What process does the Army Ball Committee use to place companies at tables?
A4. The committee uses a number of criteria to help decide which companies get which tables. Some of those criteria are: payment date, number of tables purchased, number of seats donated, location in past years, new corporate members, requests to be near the dance floor, etc. The committee intends to slight no one, understanding that some people will not be happy with their location. Note—if a large company buys six tables, for example, they will be spread throughout the floor.
Q5. Will you sell drink tickets in advance like you did last year? If so, when and where?
A5. The Chapter DOES plan to sell drink tickets in advance. We will sell tickets at the APBI and the Quad-A Golf Tournament.
Q6. Did the Army Ball Committee arrange for special rates at the Renaissance for hotel rooms?
A6. Yes. Call the Renaissance, 407.351.5555, and tell them you want the Army Birthday Ball rate of $95. For those of you who may have company members from out of town coming to the APBI, Golf Tournament and Army Ball, you might suggest the Renaissance as a good location for all the events that week.
